Join us for a reception for all three exhibitions, Thursday, September 20, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Jack Arends Hall
Several works from all three exhibitions have been generously made available by participating alumni artists for inclusion in a silent auction with all proceeds benefitting the School of Art and Design scholarship fund. Auction concludes at end of exhibitions. Winning bids to be paid cash or check and works picked up at Olson Gallery upon receipt of payment. For winning bidders not able to pick up at gallery, a flat $50 handling fee will cover packing and shipping costs.
Exhibition Awards for the Juried Show will have been determined prior to the reception.

Catherine Raymond awarded grant for glass research
Catherine Raymond, Professor of Art History and Director of the NIU Center for Burma Studies, has bee awarded a Rakow Grant for Glass Research from the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.

Michael Barnes selected for Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award
Professor Michael Barnes has been selected a recipient of the 2017-2018 Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award.
Dean’s Award
Kinga Wojciaczyk receives School of Art and Design Dean's Award
Kinga Wojciaczyk, BFA in Photography ’18, is this year’s recipient of the 2018 NIU School of Art and Design Dean’s Award. The award winner is selected by a vote of the faculty of the School of Art and Design.

First generation college graduate John Siblik
1988 School of Art and Design graduate John Siblik was a first-generation college student, and he went on to start a successful art practice, have a more than 20 year long career in arts higher education and is currently the director of the school he graduated from.
