Wojciaczyk wins Dean’s Award

2018 SoAD Dean's Award

Kinga Wojciaczyk, BFA in Photography ’18, is this year’s recipient of the 2018 NIU School of Art and Design Dean’s Award.  The award winner is selected by a vote of the faculty of the School of Art and Design.

“Working with Kinga has been an honor. She is the kind of student every teacher dreams of working with in their classroom,” said Jessica Labatte, Assistant Professor of Art.  “She is not only an exceptional student but also a kind and intelligent person. Kinga has been a leader in the photography department as a lab attendant, a vocal contributor in critiques, and a good friend to her classmates. She has been a part of many photography department exhibitions and was the lead curator and head of installation for the recent Gwendolyn Brooks exhibitions at the DeKalb Public Library and the DeKalb Area Women’s Center. Her beautiful color photographs explore themes of interconnectedness within nature and society. Kinga exemplifies all the values of artistic and academic excellence we foster within our students at NIU.”
