NIU offers a new and exciting online summer camp experience for middle school and high school students who enjoy theatre arts!
For more than 30 years Northern Illinois University has offered fine arts residential summer camps. This summer, Online Theatre Arts campers will work with NIU faculty and camp staff from the safety of home, meeting like-minded campers from near and far, and experiencing their art as never before.
Camp director and Assistant Professor of Theatre in the NIU School of Theatre and Dance, Kendra Holton and her staff have crafted a full schedule of fun theatre classes and workshops, including online rehearsals and a Friday evening online video performance.
Camp activities will include favorites from past camps transformed for an online experience, including Show Rehearsals, Acting Scenes, Theatre Workshops, Movie Night, Dance Party/Game Night, Camper Talent Show and more! Camp content will be delivered via Zoom, an online video-conferencing platform. Online campers will experience all camp activities from a movement-friendly space in their own homes.
NIU Online Theatre Arts Camp Junior (grades 6 – 9) is scheduled for July 12 – 17 and NIU Online Theatre Arts Camp Senior (grades 9 – 12) is scheduled for July 19 – 24.
