The Royal Thai Consulate-General has made a donation of $15,000 to help fund NIU’s Thai Music Ensemble and related courses at the university.
Andrew Glendening, interim dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and John Paul, interim director of the School of Music met in Chicago with Thai Consul-General Bacharee Puengpa and Deputy Consul-General Varapol Chensavasdijai. The discussion centered on opportunities for continued and future collaboration between the school and the Thai community.
NIU’s Thai Music Ensemble is directed by Chamni Sripraram. Their next concert is November 19 in the Recital Hall in the NIU Music Building.
