The winners of this year’s NIU School of Chamber Ensemble Competition will appear tonight at 7 p.m. on NPR’s WNIU (90.5 FM). The performance will also be live streamed at wniu.org.
“Air Trio” made up of three saxophonists, Ben Sanchez, Teddy Malamis and Daniël Smith won this year’s competition. They will be featured on the broadcast.
Honorable mentions from this year’s competition were “Cello-Marimba Duo” made up of Oskar Kaut (cello) and Evan Miller (marimba), and “Trombone Unit DeKalb” featuring Hunter Otgontsere (trombone), Isabella Rodriguez (trombone), Padric Sullivan (trombone) and Cameron Elam-Guthrie (bass trombone).
