On Saturday when NIU (1-0) heads to South Bend, Indiana, for the first time ever, to take on the third ranked team in the nation in Notre Dame (1-0), the Huskie football team won’t be the only NIU students performing at historic Notre Dame Stadium.
The Pride of the Midwest, the 125-year-old Huskie Marching Band, under the direction of Tom Bough, professor of music and director of athletic bands, are also making the trip.
Rockford’s NBC affiliate WREX caught up with Bough and some band members this week to get their thoughts on performing in one of college football’s most iconic locations.
Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 7 on NBC and Peacock.
