Kijuana Duplessis is a music education major and member of the NIU Steelband from Antigua and Barbuda, who says, “I chose this course of study because music has always been a major part of my life, and I knew early on that I wanted to build my future around it. My dad, who is also a musician, inspired me to follow this path, and over time I discovered that I also enjoy teaching and helping others grow. Studying both performance and education at NIU allows me to develop as a musician while preparing to share that passion with future students.”
