Kyla Reisenbichler is a music education major in the NIU School of Music who plans to graduate in 2028. The oldest of seven siblings from Freeport, Illinois, Kyla originally planned to become a nurse and earned her CNA while still in high school. A trip to the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) competition, and a chance to work with Professor Eric Johnson, NIU’s coordinator of choral activities, convinced her that she wanted to study music in college.
