The NIU School of Music is proud to present the 2026 World Music Festival, a five-day immersive journey through the sounds, traditions, and contemporary innovations of global music. Running from April 7-11, the festival will transform the NIU campus into a vibrant cultural crossroads, featuring traditional masterworks alongside world-premiere compositions.
This festival is more than a series of concerts; it is a celebration of how music bridges cultures and disciplines. From the intricate melodies of Thailand to the cutting-edge fusion of modern composers, we are providing a ‘hub’ for global artistry right here on NIU campus in DeKalb.
