NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

While commencement ceremonies have to be delayed at this time, there’s no need for the class of 2020 to wait to start celebrating. NIU is offering creative ways to share graduation excitement virtually.

Virtual Commencement MaterialsThe Huskie Grad Virtual Celebration includes resources to help graduates share their accomplishments including:

  • Customizable NIU photo collages that allow graduates to carry on the tradition of taking senior photos in front of popular campus locations.
  • Customized Class of 2020 Facebook, tablet and mobile phone graphics for graduates and their parents
  • Class of 2020 signs to download, print and use while taking photos.
  • Gifs and Giphy stickers to show #HuskiePride
  • Instagram grad caps that can be decorated with emojis or by using a phone’s photo editing tools.
  • An Instagram story generator to help graduates share their NIU experience and memories.

All the virtual features above include easy-to-follow directions.

The virtual celebration also includes videos from 2016 Welcome Days, Family Weekend and Homecoming for a glance back four years ago.

“We are especially proud of the class of 2020 who have persevered during this extraordinary time in order to complete their degrees. Their hard work has paid off and it is something to truly celebrate,” said NIU Executive Vice President and Provost Beth Ingram.

The special webpage also includes links to all the information graduates will need to know about the August ceremonies such as how to register to participate
