NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

Today, Gov. Pritzker announced a Stay-At-Home order beginning 5 p.m. Saturday through April 7. The order advises all Illinois residents to stay at home to the greatest extent possible except for essential activities; closes non-essential retail businesses; and reminds everyone to practice social distancing, remaining at least six feet from all others when outside the home.

Students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts may retrieve personal property they need to fulfill their required coursework.  Buildings will be open for a limited time this weekend for this purpose (see hours below).

Students should, if possible, communicate when they plan to collect their belongings within a 30-minute window. The goal is to minimize the number of people in the building at any time. However, we encourage students to leave anything you do not urgently need in place until we return to regular operations.

  • School of Art and Design: Students who need to get into the building in order to pick up an artwork for the Continuing Student Scholarship Competition or are in need of your supplies, the building will be open on Saturday until 5:00 p.m.
You can contact John Siblik to help you into any locked studios.

  • School of Music: The Music Office will be open from 9 am until noon on Saturday for the return of instruments, keys, music, etc.
  • School of Theatre and Dance:  Students who need access to their supplies should get in touch with the Director of SOTD in order to develop a plan.
