NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

The School of Music is presenting a unique night of music and history with the faculty recital “Doves, Love, Sorrow and Destiny: A musical evening with commentary.”

This is a program of works originally for voice or clarinet with orchestra that will be performed on clarinet by Gregory Barrett and on piano by JeongSoo Kim.  Historical-musical introductions to each piece will be provided by Danko Drusko.

Barrett, Kim and Drusko are all faculty members in the NIU School of Music.

The performance will include works from Gustav Mahler, Jacques de Gallot, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, and Giuseppi Verdi.

“Doves, Love, Sorrow and Destiny: A musical evening with commentary” will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall in the Music Building at NIU. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased online or at the door.
