Estonian composer Arvo Pärt (hailed as the most-performed composer world-wide for the past seven years) congratulates NIU School of Music faculty member Gregory Barrett following performance of Barrett’s arrangement: Jean Sibelius “En Saga Septet,” at Arvo Pärt composer portrait concert given by members of Staatskapelle in Dresden, Germany on March 4.
Pärt called Barrett’s work “fantastic.” The “En Saga Septet” received the most applause during the five hour concert given in the Dresden, Germany Residenzschloss. Barrett’s “En Saga Septet” is published by the world’s oldest music publisher, Breitkopf & Härtel, Wiesbaden, Germany.
