Richard Siegesmund, professor emeritus of Art and Design Education in the NIU School of Art and Design is the featured speaker of the Qualitative Inquiry Collaborative at NIU. He is the next speaker in their online speaker series that highlights varied research designs, methods and approaches through reflections on research projects and publications.
Events feature faculty presentations and open Q and As for an interdisciplinary audience of graduate students and members of the NIU community.
On Friday, February 25 at 3 p.m., Siegesmund will present, “The SAGE Handbook of Qualitative Research and the Arts.”
Since 1993, The SAGE Handbook of Qualitative Research, edited by Norman Denzin and Yvonna Lincoln, has served as a benchmark reference for qualitative inquiry in the social sciences. The sixth edition is now in production. This presentation will trace the evolution of the conception of the arts as a contributor to qualitative inquiry and look closely at Dr. Siegesmund’s own contribution to the 6th edition, “The Arts as Research.”
