Shortly after George Floyd was killed in police custody and unrest started to sweep across the nation and the world, we asked young people in the Chicago area to send us their artwork. We wanted to see the world through the eyes of the people shaping, processing and, eventually, inheriting the world.
We were blown away by the entries — thoughtful, brave, painful, lovely. Here is a sampling of some of our favorites, accompanied by short profiles of the artists. We’re grateful for their work and their lens.
