Jack Arends Hall 50th Anniversary

The 2018 fall semester kicks off the 50th Anniversary of Jack Arends Hall, home of the NIU School of Art and Design. First up are a pair of exhibitions:

  • “Golden” Jack Arends Hall 50th Anniversary Juried Alumni Show, an All-Alumni Open Exhibit, September 4 – October 19
  • Jack Arends Hall 50th Anniversary All Alumni Open Exhibit and Mail Art Show, August 24 – October 19

Eligibility

Open to all alumni of the NIU School of Art and Design (SoAD), also previously known as NIU School of Art and NIU Art Department.

Awards

  • Two solo shows at the Olson Gallery, January-February 2020
  • Invitation to exhibit work in an alumni group show at the Olson Gallery, September-October 2019

Entry Specifications

  • All media in 2D and 3D forms will be considered.
    • 2D work may not exceed 84” in any direction
    • 3D work may not exceed 84”x84”x36”
  • Video/animation/time arts work may not exceed five minutes in run time

July 15 Entry forms due
August 1-3 Email notification of acceptance/rejection
August 7-17 Acceptance of shipped works
August 17, 10 a.m. -4p.m. Hand delivery of work
August 18, 10 a.m.-noon Hand delivery of work
September 4 Exhibition opens
September 20, 5-8 p.m. Reception
October 19 Exhibition closes

Eligibility

Open to all alumni of the NIU School of Art and Design (SoAD), also previously known as NIU School of Art and NIU Art Department.

Entry Specifications

One piece of artwork of media in 2D and 3D forms will be accepted. All work for the Mail Art Show must fit and be delivered inside a USPS Flat Rate Priority Box.

If you are hand delivering the art work for the open call show and picking up the work after the show closes, you are welcome to show work the fits the following size restriction.

  • 2D work may not exceed 84” in any direction
  • 3D work may not exceed 84”x84”x36”

All work must have been completed post 2015.

You may submit one entry for consideration. Entries must be submitted no later than July 21, 2018.
