As part of an ongoing collaborative effort between the NIU College of Visual and Performing Arts and NIU Athletics, April has been declared Athletes For Artists month. NIU athletes are being encouraged to attend one or more of the following events:
NIU Jazz Orchestra Concert, Thursday, April 18, 7 p.m., Boutell Memorial Concert Hall
Spring Dance Concert, opening night, Thursday, April 25, 7:30 p.m., O’Connell Theatre
Bachelor of Fine Arts Show, opens Monday, (gallery hours 10 am. – 4 p.m.), Jack Olson Gallery and Annette and Jerry Johns Student Art Gallery
Earlier this year students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts attended the NIU home football game versus UMass, the combined NIU wrestling and NIU gymnastics Beauty and the Beast meet, and the Cram the Convo men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader. Athletes attended the November 28 NIU Wind Ensemble Concert.
