Kayla Schlipf, a BFA graduate from the NIU School of Art and Design will give a virtual visiting artist talk for the Illustration Area titled, “Redefining success: When illustration is more than just a job.”
The lecture will be presented Thursday, November 12 at 5 p.m. on Zoom (meeting ID: 892 5936 2061, passcode 595810).
Schlipf is a senior illustrator and animator at TWR MOTION. She grew up surrounded by corn fields in central Illinois, but after completing her BFA at NIU she moved south to join her team in Cary, NC. She is honored to work with people all over the world to share the message of Jesus. The animations Kayla has crated, which are in three languages (and counting) are being shared in six countries.
While illustrating in Photoshop is her comfort zone, Kayla has learned a thing or two about turning her artwork into animation. She also loves to put a physical paintbrush to canvas every once and a while. When not illustrating, she loves to dream about future travel adventures, cook without a recipe and enjoy a bit of healthy foosball competition with her team.
