Richard Jenkins, a DeKalb native and Emmy Award winning, and Oscar nominated actor, will be at NIU on Tuesday, October 30 at 2 p.m. for a Q and A with students in the Stevens Building’s O’Connell Theatre.
Jenkins won the 2015 Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for HBO’s Olive Kitteridge which co-starred Frances McDormand. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2009 for The Visitor and for Best Supporting Actor this year for The Shape of Water. In his long and varied career he has starred in dramas like the long-running HBO series Six Feet Under, and feature films such as Eat, Pray, Love, Silverado and Bone Tomahawk, and comedies including Step Brothers, Me, Myself and Irene and There’s Something About Mary.
The Q and A is free and open to the public.
Jenkins is in town for the final movie in the Egyptian Theatre’s Richard Jenkins Film Series, The Shape of Water at 7 p.m. that night.
