The NIU Steelband is literally world famous, and continued proof of that is a feature that ran in the Thursday, September 14 edition of The Guardian, a newspaper in Trinidad and Tobago. The article features Liam Teague, Professor of Music and Head of Steelpan Studies at NIU, and a native of Trinidad and Tobago, and a preview of the band’s shows that kick off the 30th Anniversary Season of Chicago Sinfonietta, September 16 and 18.
