After an absence of more than a decade and a half, Artifacts, the School of Art and Design alumni newsletter has returned in electronic form. The newsletter, which features alumni profiles, upcoming events and opportunities for alums to share their news was e-mailed to alumni, and can be found online as part of the NIU Arts Blog at niuarts.com/artifacts.
The current Summer 2018 issue features news on upcoming events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jack Arends Hall, and a pair of “in their own words” features by a pair of accomplished artists who studied at NIU in that era: Freida High Wasikhongo Tesfagiorgis and Arlene Turner-Crawford. You can also see previously published features on Art and Design alums Dana Arnett and Barbara Lee Smith. Current sculpture student Ari Norris is featured in the Huskie Spotlight, and there’s news about upcoming and recently passed exhibitions, as well.
