NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

Northern Illinois University’s School of Art and Design is presenting an exhibition of artwork by Illinois community college students.  This show will run from February 9-23 and features the professional artwork of community college art faculty and a juried competition of community college student artwork.

The School of Art and Design will host an opening reception and awards presentation, Friday, Feb. 9, at noon in the Annette and Jerry Johns Gallery, room 214 of the Jack Arends Visual Art Building on NIU’s main campus in DeKalb.

The reception will continue on to NIU’s Gallery 215, located at 215 N. Fourth Street in DeKalb from 1 – 2 p.m.

Throughout the show’s run from February 9-23 the Annette and Jerry Johns Gallery is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.  Information on specific operating hours for Gallery 215 can be requested by e-mailing Kevin Hunter at khunter3@niu.edu.

Joe Milosevich, who was a professor of art and gallery director at Joliet Junior College for 38 years has been selected as juror for this student exhibition.
